Interviews over the past couple of years have pointed towards this as well. We think we'll be waiting until at least 2024, unless EA and Maxis are further along in the development process than they are letting on.įansite has reported a large number of new job vacancies at Maxis over the last year – suggesting that the developer has been busy expanding – while Maxis executive Catharina Mallet confirmed plans to provide ongoing support and new content for The Sims 4 while 'building the future of The Sims franchise' at the same time. EA hasn't announced anything yet, but The Sims 5 is still likely a while off.
